Employers need production skills: not slide deck theory

Across APAC, teams need people who can run identity, endpoints, networks, and security in live estates under real SLAs: not rehearse acronyms in a vacuum.

Early career roles that combine paid client delivery with deliberate skill building are one of the fastest routes into that work. That is the shape of pathway we hire for here.

How it works

A simple path, similar in spirit to earn while you learn pathways, built for accountable MSP delivery.

  1. Start in role with structured learning

You work on live client environments with clear escalation paths, ticketing discipline, and mentors who explain the “why”, not just the click path.

  2. Choose your depth

Together we align your next stretch goals to the track you want, Microsoft cloud and identity, security operations, networks and voice, field services and on site delivery, or clinical imaging, so study time maps to client outcomes.

  3. Prove it in production

Progression is tied to how you handle scenarios, documentation, and customer communication. Where certifications fit your path, we support exam goals that match the work you are already doing.

Skills and certification focus

Grouped like a traineeship syllabus, so you can see where depth builds. Exact exams and vendor badges depend on your track and client context.

  • Security & resilience

    • Endpoint detection, hardening, and incident response hygiene
    • Backup and recovery expectations under real SLAs

    • PACS/RIS context and workstation integration (training provided)
    • Diagnostic and clinical display deployments
    • Healthcare adjacent communication with clinical and IT stakeholders

Your path

If you want depth, you are in the right story

Many MSP roles reward speed over understanding. You want to see how identity, network, and security fit together, and to explain that clearly to clients who depend on you.

  • The external pressure

Queues that hide context, SLAs that treat every ticket the same, and tools that get in the way of fixing the real issue.

  • The internal drag

The feeling that you are repeating the same fix because the system behind it never improves.

  • What we believe instead

Complex environments deserve accountable delivery: documented change, honest handovers, and room to build mastery in Microsoft 365, networks, security, and, where it fits, healthcare imaging workflows.

Role areas, pick where you want to go deep

No generic “apply now” button buried three clicks deep. Start an email with the track in the subject line so the right hiring lead sees you first pass.

  • Service desk & endpoint engineering

Tiered service desk and ITIL style workflows in HaloPSA; NinjaOne RMM for patching, software deployment, inventory, and NinjaOne Backup alignment, paired with client communication that holds up under scrutiny.

    Client facing delivery

The same service lines, solutions, and vendor partnerships we showcase on these pages, so your track maps to how we sell and run work.

    Partners

    Platform reference (external)

  • Microsoft 365, identity & cloud

Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, hybrid identity, and Azure patterns where customers run regulated or distributed estates.

    Client facing delivery

The same service lines, solutions, and vendor partnerships we showcase on these pages, so your track maps to how we sell and run work.

    Services

  • Networks, connectivity & voice

LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, SD WAN conversations, and 3CX or related voice projects where telephony meets the network stack. Designs vary by site, Fortinet is common at the edge; Cisco and Palo Alto appear in WAN and NGFW stacks; UniFi or HPE/Aruba class Wi‑Fi shows up where the client standardises on it.

    Client facing delivery

The same service lines, solutions, and vendor partnerships we showcase on these pages, so your track maps to how we sell and run work.

  • Field technician & on site services

Customer site attendance for physical IT work: cabling fault finding and remediation, desktop PC and server installs, relocations, and maintenance, telephony installation and moves, plus hands on end user support, training, and walkthroughs, coordinated with the service desk and project teams.

    Client facing delivery

The same service lines, solutions, and vendor partnerships we showcase on these pages, so your track maps to how we sell and run work.

    Partners

  • Security & resilience

Hardening, monitoring, backup alignment, and pragmatic compliance context for teams that cannot afford “checkbox” security.

  • Clinical imaging & displays

PACS/RIS context, workstation integration, and display rollouts led with LG Medical Solutions (diagnostic and clinical review, NSW Health standing offer where it applies), with EIZO and other lines where the site already standardises. Training provided for imaging curious engineers.

    Client facing delivery

The same service lines, solutions, and vendor partnerships we showcase on these pages, so your track maps to how we sell and run work.

A hiring process you can actually prepare for

Four predictable steps, no black box, no surprise panel trivia.

  1. Send context, not just a CV

Email [email protected] with your experience and the environments you have supported in production.

  2. Structured conversation

We explore scenarios you have lived, trade offs, outages, and how you communicated with stakeholders.

  3. Alignment on ways of working

We discuss shift overlap with AU/NZ/US/EU windows, tooling expectations, and documentation standards.

  4. Offer & onboarding

Clear role scope, escalation paths, and a path to deepen skills in your track.

What we look for

  • Strong written English for client updates, runbooks, and shift handovers.
  • Comfort with RMM (including NinjaOne), ticketing discipline, and documented change control.
  • Hands on exposure to Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Intune, or traditional AD, depending on role.
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN) for infrastructure and NOC style work.
  • Industry certifications are a plus, for example Fortinet NSE, CompTIA A+, and role relevant Microsoft certifications.
  • For imaging aligned roles: curiosity about clinical workflows or diagnostic displays, we train the domain detail.
  • For field and on site roles: dependable site attendance, safe install and relocation work, and patient, practical training for non technical users.
  • Willingness to work shifts that overlap client SLA windows across regions.

What candidates say

Paraphrased from hiring conversations and mentoring feedback.

  • “I wanted to see how identity, network, and security connect: not just clear the queue. The interview matched that: real scenarios, not acronym trivia.”
: Engineer, service delivery (regional team)
  • “Mentors explain the why when we change something in a client tenant. That is rarer than it should be in MSP work.”
    : Microsoft 365 & cloud track
  • “Handovers and runbooks matter here. It feels closer to a serious integrator than a script farm.”
    : Networks & voice, ANZ

A quick fit check

We hire for accountable delivery. This is a useful filter before you write to us.

You are likely a fit if…

  • You want ownership in live client environments, with clear escalation and documentation
  • You are building written English for client updates, handovers, and runbooks
  • You care about depth in Microsoft, security, or networks: not just ticket speed

Probably not a fit if…

  • You need a classroom only or government cert programme: we are an employer, not an RTO
  • You want to avoid client communication or written updates entirely
  • You are looking for throw it over the wall work with no accountability to outcomes

Straight answers

The questions candidates ask before they invest time in an application.

Is this like a government traineeship or a Cert IV programme?
Trucell is not a registered training organisation. You are hired as an employee, and most learning happens in production with mentoring and clear expectations. Where vendor certifications fit your track and client work, we help you align study to real scenarios, similar in spirit to earn while you learn pathways, without a classroom only route.
Is this outsourced “body shop” work?
No. Trucell runs an accountable delivery model: named ownership, clear escalation, and documentation that survives handovers. We hire engineers who want that responsibility.
Do I need certifications on day one?
Certifications help but are not a gate. We care more about what you have supported in production and how you explain it.
What does “scenario first” interviewing mean?
We ask about real incidents, changes, and customer conversations, not memorised acronyms. If you have not seen something yet, we want to hear how you learn.
Can I apply from outside your current locations?
Yes. Trucell operates across Australia, the Philippines, New Zealand, and Chile. Role availability and employment terms depend on where the position is based and local legal requirements.
How fast will I hear back?
We aim to acknowledge every application and share realistic next steps. If a role is not open, we may keep your profile for future alignment.
