Carrier grade links, quoted across a wholesale carrier panel

Dark fibre and Metro Ethernet

When NBN is not enough: Dark Fibre, Metro Ethernet from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps, and Layer 2 point-to-point transport between sites, head office, and data centres. Path diversity, documented SLAs, and tested failover, delivered by the same Trucell network team that runs your LAN, Wi-Fi, Fortinet SD-WAN, and the security and IT support around it. One accountable provider from carrier handoff to user endpoint, with handover documentation procurement and auditors can read.

You are in the right place if:

  • NBN or broadband is not enough: you need dedicated bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, or a Layer 2 path you control end to end.
  • You run more than one site, a data centre footprint, or both, and the links between them have become the risk in every design conversation.
  • You want one provider to quote the route across multiple carriers, deliver it, and then answer for it alongside the network, security, and support around it.

Not the right fit if you only need a single office internet service: start with our business internet and WAN service instead, and we will tell you honestly when a standard access product is the better buy.

One carrier quote vs a wholesale panel

Any carrier will quote you their own network. The difference is who compares the routes you cannot see.

Going direct to one carrier

  • One network, one route, priced without competition
  • No visibility of a cheaper or more diverse path a street away
  • Delivery, the router, and the fault path owned by different parties
  • A second link from the same carrier that shares the same trench
  • Contract terms reviewed once, then renewed on autopilot

Dark fibre and Metro Ethernet with Trucell

  • The same route quoted across Vocus, Megaport, Telstra, Optus, AAPT, TPG, and Opticomm
  • Build costs, lead times, and diversity options compared side by side
  • One escalation path from carrier handoff to user endpoint
  • True path diversity designed in, with failover actually tested
  • Renewals re-quoted across the panel, not rolled over

What we deliver

Dedicated paths specified to the workload, with the handoff engineered, not just terminated.

  • Dark fibre

Unlit fibre between your sites and data centres where the route calls for it: you set the light budget, the bandwidth ceiling is yours, and the path is documented.

  • Metro Ethernet, 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps

Carrier Ethernet services sized to the workload, symmetrical, with service levels documented and the upgrade path priced before you sign.

  • Layer 2 point to point transport

Clean Layer 2 between sites, head office, and data centres, so your routing, security zones, and replication stay under your control.

  • Path diversity and tested failover

Diverse routes designed against real carrier maps, then failover tested and recorded, not assumed. The test evidence is yours to file.

  • Managed handoff into your network

The link lands in a design we can answer for: routing, Fortinet SD WAN and LAN, and the monitoring that watches the path after go live.

  • Data centre cross connects

Interconnects inside NextDC and Equinix alongside our colocation footprint, so rack to rack and rack to cloud paths land in the same design.

Links across every leg that matters

We provide links across all three topologies, and most estates end up needing more than one.

  • Data centre to data centre

Between facilities, including NextDC and Equinix: replication, DR, and active active designs with the bandwidth and latency the workload actually needs.

  • Data centre to premises

Your sites into the rack: imaging archives, backup targets, private cloud, and hosted workloads reached over a dedicated path instead of the public internet.

  • Premises to premises

Site to site links between offices, clinics, and campuses: one Layer 2 estate where that simplifies the design, with diversity where a single trench is a risk.

One quote across the wholesale carrier panel

Trucell buys these services at wholesale across Vocus, Megaport, Telstra, Optus, AAPT, TPG, and Opticomm. When you ask for a route, we quote it across the panel and bring back the options: on net or build, lead time, diversity against the paths you already have, and price, side by side.

That matters because fibre pricing is street by street. The carrier with the best route between your data centres is often not the carrier with the best route into your newest site, and none of them will tell you about the other. A panel quote is how you find out.

You contract with Trucell, and the link is delivered, monitored, and supported by the same team that runs network services, internet and WAN, and IT support around it: one escalation path, with the carrier managed behind it.

The panel

  • Vocus

National fibre backbone and metro networks.

  • Megaport

Software defined interconnection between data centres and clouds.

  • Telstra

The widest national reach, including hard to serve sites.

  • Optus

Metro fibre with route diversity options.

  • AAPT

Business fibre and Ethernet across the TPG group network.

  • TPG

Metro and inter capital fibre with a deep on net footprint.

  • Opticomm

Fibre estates, new developments, and greenfield precincts.

Scope a link, a route, or a whole estate

Tell us the A end, the B end, and what runs over the path. You get panel options with build costs and lead times, a diversity read against what you already have, and a delivery plan with an owner, not a single carrier quote with a logo on it.

What to include in your brief

  • Site and data centre addresses for each end of the link
  • Bandwidth today and the growth you expect over the term
  • What runs over the path (replication, imaging, voice, backup)
  • Existing carrier services and their contract end dates

Dark fibre and Metro Ethernet questions

Direct answers to what network, procurement, and operations teams ask first.

Which carriers can you quote?

Trucell holds wholesale supply relationships across Vocus, Megaport, Telstra, Optus, AAPT, TPG, and Opticomm. We quote the same route across the panel and present the options with build costs, lead times, and diversity side by side, then deliver and support the winning option under one contract with Trucell.

What kinds of links can you provide?

Dark fibre, Metro Ethernet from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps, and Layer 2 point to point transport, across data centre to data centre, data centre to premises, and premises to premises legs. If a standard business internet service is the better fit for a site, we will say so and quote that instead.

Who do we call when the link has a fault?

Trucell. You raise one ticket with us and we own the escalation into the carrier, with the link monitored alongside the routing, SD WAN, and security around it. Carrier service levels sit behind our management of the fault, not in front of you.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on whether each end is on net. Lit buildings can be quick; new builds and civil works take longer and vary by carrier and council. The panel quote states the lead time per option before you commit, and we manage the carrier build through to a tested handover.

Can you design diversity against links we already have?

Yes. We check proposed routes against the paths you already run so a second link does not share the same trench, exchange, or lead in. Where true diversity needs a different carrier, the panel is exactly what makes that quotable.

Where dedicated links connect

A link is rarely the whole design. These are the lines clients most often run in the same thread.

Wholesale panel: Vocus, Megaport, Telstra, Optus, AAPT, TPG, Opticomm · NextDC and Equinix interconnects · ISO 27001:2022 certified operations

Bring your site list and contract dates. We map routes across the panel, price the options, and put names against who delivers and who answers for the link afterwards.
